How old is richter belmont

Unlike a typical vampire hunter, Richter boasts peak human physiology, thanks to the Belmont Clan's centuries-old training regimen and the magical blood of Sypha Belnades, a powerful witch who married Richter's distant ancestor, Trevor Belmont, after they defeated Dracula.

Like Juste, Richter is also able to utilize the magical capabilities he inherited from Sypha. Unlike Juste, he is able to do it naturally instead of having to rely on a combination of spellbooks and sub-weapons.

In Castlevania: Rondo of Blood , Richter's story begins as he is training with the Belmont Clan's heirloom, a holy whip known as the Vampire Killer, and studying a map of Dracula's Castle.

Rushing there on horseback and fighting briefly against Death, Richter finds Aljiba in flames and Annette kidnapped by the newly resurrected Dracula and his army of monsters. Entering the castle's halls and avoiding a grotesque monster known as the Behemoth, Richter rescues Maria Renard, a year-old vampire huntress and distant relative of the Belmont Clan.

Although Richter chuckles dismissively at Maria's claims of being a vampire huntress, he later accepts her enthusiastic help upon being impressed by her mastery of magic and dominion over animals. En route to stopping Dracula and saving Annette, they rescue Iris, the daughter of a doctor, and Tera, one of Aljiba's nuns.

Richter then makes his way to the Castle Keep for a final showdown against Dracula, with both combatants offering differing views on humanity. After a fierce battle against the fully powered Dark Lord, Richter succeeded his distant ancestor Simon Belmont as the fourth Belmont to kill Dracula. With Dracula defeated, Richter, Maria, Annette and the other women escape in time to watch the sun rise over the castle's rubble. Five years later, Richter is brainwashed by the dark priest Shaft not long after he entered Dracula's newly reconstructed castle to investigate.

Maria entered the castle herself to investigate his disappearance, which in turn forces Alucard to awaken from his centuries-long slumber, due to the unexpected lack of a Belmont to handle what is going on. These events lead to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night , which culminates with the brainwashed Richter doing battle with Alucard in the Castle Keep.

Alucard is able to see Shaft's enchantments controlling Richter before he ultimately saves Richter. Because of the prophecy originally stated by Nostradamus about the end of the world and the return of Dracula in , Richter bequeathed the Vampire Killer to other descendants of the Belmont Clan, those being that of the Morris Clan. The Morris Clan was given official guardianship over the Vampire Killer sometime before , holding onto it until the time came for the Belmont Clan to reclaim it.

Of course, Richter's strength prevails and he destroys Shaft, Dracula, and Castlevania. In Dracula X Chronicles, the matter of saving Annette is slightly changed -- if the player has not freed the rest of the female captives, Annette is turned into a vampire and Richter must see to her defeat.

Four years after Richter showed Dracula he didn't belong in this world, Shaft, seemingly still alive, saw fit to resurrect his master yet again.

He knew he would never succeed as long as a Belmont was there to stop him, so he put in action a plan to completely eliminate Richter as a preventative force. To do this he set a magical curse on Richter, which deluded him into using his Belmont powers for evil. Shortly thereafter, Richter went missing. A year later, Shaft was successful in raising Castlevania yet again. This stirred the long slumber of Dracula's son Alucard , who, instead of finding his father on the castle's throne discovered that Richter, now twisted and evil, had become lord of the castle.

With the help of a matured Maria Renard, she and Alucard correctly surmised that Richter was being controlled by Shaft and broke the magic spell he had over Richter. Though the Belmont was weakened and unable to fight, Alucard himself was able to finally put an end to Shaft's plans and prevent his father's evil from seeping out of the castle once more.

Though he was the mightiest of the Belmont vampire hunters, the curse put onto Richter by Shaft. However, those of non-Belmont descent who use the whip are subject to having their life force drained by its spiritual power. Despite his heroics, the power of the Vampire Killer puts a premature end to John's life years later.

From the spirit of Eric Lecarde, Jonathan learns that for a non-Belmont to use the true power of the whip, he must overcome the spirit of the last true Belmont user -- in this case, Richter, in the form of an optional boss fight.

If the player chooses to partake in this fight, then Jonathan defeats the Spirit of the Whip and accepts the consequences of using the whip.

Richter also appears in Portrait's "Greatest Five" special attack. The curse of Richter Belmont is finally broken sometime after the events of Portrait of Ruin, as another in the Belmont bloodline named Julius brandishes it in the as-yet-undocumented events of Dracula's resurrection in Richter, along with his ancestor Simon, is a playable fighter in Super Smash Bros.

Ultimate on the Nintendo Switch. The two Belmonts were introduced in the same trailer, where Richter jumps in to save Simon from Dracula's fireball and delivers a version of his famous line to the vampire. Richter is classified as an Echo Fighter of Simon, with his moveset and animations being based directly on Simon's although the two actually take inspiration from each other , making him the first third-party Echo Fighter and the only one of a newcomer instead of a veteran fighter.

Richter's special attacks are Axe, an ax that is a powerful projectile; Holy Water, a multi-hitting projectile, with a blue flame that does aura damage instead of an orange burning one that does flame damage; Cross, a projectile with boomerang-esque properties; and Uppercut, a powerful uppercut that functions as his recovery move.

In Simon's debut trailer, he saves his ancestor Simon from Dracula's attack, and shouts a variant of his famous line from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night quoted above , "Die monster. You don't belong in this world! Brawl and Lucina in Super Smash Bros. This trait is also shared with Simon and King K.

Axe is Richter's standard special move. When used, Richter throws an axe that travels at a high parabolic arc. The angle can be changed. The move deals high damage and knockback, and can go through solid terrain. However, it has very high startup lag.

Cross is Richter's side special move. When used, Richter throws a cross like a boomerang. Unlike other boomerangs, the Cross makes no attempt to return to Richter. The Cross only flies straight forward and back.
