Better fuel economy. Silverado has a nicer interior. Silverado in this trim level comes with a nice factory lift and Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs.
LT Trail boss comes with color keyed bumpers and mirrors - Have to get a high trim level with Tundra to get the same. Dealership that I would be buying from offers an included lifetime powertrain warranty. Lots of great aftermarket support I'm having a hard time coming up with anything else What am I missing? Even my wife would rather have a Tundra - but that's because we've always bought Toyota cars and trucks.
I have had a Trailblazer and a Suburban loved this truck in the past, and Chevy has never done me wrong.. I'm coming here in hopes that you all can offer up some factual evidence as to why I would be making a huge mistake getting the Chevy instead. My heart says Toyota, my brain and every logical part of me says the Chevy is the better buy. Last edited: Feb 9, Backslider , Feb 9, D4x4TRD likes this.

Tundra14Platinum , Feb 9, Chevy has its own maintenance program called Chevy Complete Care but it only lasts for a year and doesn't cover nearly as much as ToyotaCare. When you want a truck that will give you more for less, the Toyota Tundra is the truck for you. Silverado Comparison It's important for a truck to be able to tow, haul, and hoof it when need be, but power and performance aren't the only characteristics that make up an all-around solid truck.
Explore Tundra. Search Inventory. Local Specials. Find A Dealer. The Tundra's suite of safety features includes tons of standard active safety features while the Silverado requires an additional package to match it. Aside from standard airbag coverage, the Silverado does not come standard with any comparable active safety features.

The Tundra also has more torque which makes it a true workhorse on and off road. Trucks are built to be powerful and durable. This motor supplies pound-feet of bone-crunching torque. The Tundra can tow 10, pounds. The six-speed automatic gets the job done, but I found it to be antiquated relative to the competition.
The Tundra is a close second to the plush Ram for sheer interior bliss. And although the rear seats aren't as comfy, they're plenty roomy. The great thing about pickups is — Duh! And with the edition, you get the best of both worlds: cargo room to burn in the back, abundant premium-ness up front. Infotainment works fine, with GPS navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, device integration, and satellite radio.
The touchscreen interface, however, is small and rather outdated — it's more or less the same as what I have in my Prius. The Tundra is a solid truck. But it's also an old truck. Let's move on to a pickup that is in no way an underdog: a "Summit White" Chevy Silverado. It's the fourth-generation of the nameplate, but it's a full-size pickup that can trace its lineage back to the early s.
This is going to be a battle of the white full-size pickups! The new Silverado tips the scales at 5, pounds — several hundred less than the outgoing generation, thanks to lightweight steel and aluminum. The Silverado could be outfitted with a 2. This configuration can tow 12, pounds.
The speed automatic is operated by a very old-school column shifter. The rear seats, as in the Tundra, were a roomy bench design. My Silverado tester, while nice, wasn't as fancy as the Tundra.
My tester came with a tonneau cover for the box. It can be folded back to reveal the bed in all its glory. The 8-inch center touchscreen isn't huge, but it is responsive, with a few buttons and knobs to fall back on.
When taking your family to the lake for the weekend, would you rather have the option of towing the bigger, faster, and more capable boat? When planning an adventure to the National Park and you plan to bring along an RV, would you rather have the ability to bring that larger RV that not only sleeps more but also has more kitchen and seating areas?
Or would you rather feel cramped in the smaller trailer? Fuel mileage is something that every potential vehicle owner should consider when shopping for a new vehicle. This has always been the case, but as fuel prices climb higher and higher, fuel economy is even more important.
This brings us to the question of whether the Chevy Silverado or the Toyota Tundra gets better fuel mileage. The answer is the Silverado. The Silverado gets significantly better fuel mileage than the Tundra. According to fueleconomy. Just think about what you could do with that kind of savings.
And this is, of course, assuming you only drive as much as the average person.
